What is Discover?

Each visit shows 4 randomly selected findings drawn from across the RunoVerse corpus. Click Show me something new to reshuffle and see a different set. The pool grows over time as new statistical analyses are added.

Card categories

Shared Heritage — cross-language patterns between Estonian and Finnish runosong.
Statistical Outlier — places or features that deviate significantly from the corpus average (measured by z-score).
Legend Hotspot — parishes with unusually high concentrations of treasure legends.
Emotional Geography / Regional Identity — emotion-word density and folklore profiles for specific places.
Dictionary Archaeology / Linguistic Analysis — findings from comparing dictionaries or AI-detected linguistic features.
Corpus Scale / Folklore Classification — big-picture numbers and international tale-type connections.

Where does the data come from?

Static discoveries are hand-curated highlights. Dynamic discoveries (outliers and hotspots) are loaded from statistical_surprises.json, a pre-computed file of z-score analyses across emotion domains and legend distributions.

Tips

Every card links to a dedicated explorer page where you can investigate the finding in depth. Refresh multiple times to eventually cycle through all available discoveries.
